Summers (June to September) are long, hot and humid, with average temperatures between 69°F (20°C) and 87°F (30°C). Summer is also the wettest time of year, with July and August seeing rain nearly half of each month; tropical storms are also most likely in this period. Winters (December to February) are short and mild, with occasional brief cold spells. Average temperatures stay between 41°F (5°C) and 62°F (17°C); snow is rare and seldom covers the ground. The best time to visit Gulfport is in September and October.
