Autumn is chilly, but the landscape is at its most colourful and beautiful. Winters are quite cold, and snow is common. Rainfall is fairly evenly distributed throughout the year. Temperatures in summer average between 61°F (16°C) and 90°F (32°C), while winter temperatures average between 0°F (-18°C) and 39°F (4°C), making the temperature range in Hartford quite extreme. While summer is a lovely time to visit, the autumn foliage of the nearby countryside also draws many visitors in September and October.
